It’s no surprise that a woman who has been involved in the fashion industry for so many years should become an aficionado of style.
Aleksandra adores fashion, and rarely misses the couture shows of her three favourite designers: Christian Lacroix, Ricardo Tissi and Karl Lagerfeld.
‘Couture is an expression of art,’ she explains, ‘Going to haute couture fashion shows gives an insight into what’s new in the world of fashion. The shows set all of the important trends for the new season.’
Sandra’s wedding dress was created by celebrated bridal wear designer Vera Wang.
Another favourite is Azzedine Alaia ‘as his work is a staple in the world of fashion’ she says.
Sandra’s also a huge fan of John Galliano. For her 30th birthday, she bought one of his dramatic pieces straight from the catwalk. She didn’t try it on until the night before her party, when she discovered a slight drawback:
‘The dress was red and heavily inspired by Japanese culture. What I didn’t realise was that it weighed 40 kilos! I somehow managed to carry it off for the party, though…’
